I currently teach creative writing at the University of Virginia where, in 2019, I won the Sydney Blair Award for Excellence in Teaching.
I have taught writing and performance based classes and workshops for organizations including:
The University of Westminster
London Southbank University
Hong Kong Institute of Education
The BRIT School for the Performing Arts
Victoria and Albert Museum
St Christopher's Hospice
Eastside Educational Trust
I also led a group called Creative Circle at artsdepot in London for a year, giving regular classes on writing, storytelling and other forms of creative expression and have led large scale community arts projects for organisations including Battersea Arts Centre & Young Vic.
"This class was phenomenal. Anna is one of the most caring, insightful, and engaging professors I've had in my 3 years at UVA. Workshop pushed me out of my comfort zone, but I felt safe doing that in this class. I am leaving this class a better writer and completely validated in my desire to write.'
'[Anna's] positive attitude and useful feedback made everyone excited to write and also feel accepted enough to share work and give honest feedback. It was obvious that she was truly passionate about the subject matter and wanted to genuinely help everyone grow as individuals and as writers.'
'Before [taking this class], I wasn't sure if I wanted to pursue creative writing, but now I'm positive!'
